Understanding the Different Types of Garage Floor Coverings
The concrete floors of the garage are always exposed to oil stains, grease, other spills as well as tire marks and foot traffic. This is why whether you bought a new house that has a garage and you want it to last for a long time and to look beautiful, or if you have decided to renovate your old house’s garage, then you need to take a look at the different garage floor coverings that are available on the market. A good garage floor resurfacing material will help you save money, it will help you clean the floor much easier and it will help you avoid any slipping hazards.
There is a great variety of garage floor resurfacing options that you can consider. There are floor tiles that come in a variety of materials. There are also floor paints that are made specifically for the concrete floors of the garage. You can also consider mats that come in different sizes. These mats are simply rolled over coverings that come in certain sizes, you can then cut them in the size you want and easily throw them on the floor. This is by far, the easiest and the simplest way to over the floor of your garage, but it is also not the most durable or the most effective.
In the case of paint, you will have to make sure that you are buying and applying the suitable type of paint for the job at hand. There is a special epoxy paint that is designed for garage floors as it has the ability to protect it from wear and tear as well as spills. If you decided to go with garage floor resurfacing tiles, you will find plenty of options when it comes to the colors and the patterns. The easiest pattern to install is the interlocking floor tiles. This kind of pattern is not only used in garages as it can be used in workshops and basements as well.
On the other hand, if you want your garage floor to look like fancy showrooms, then the best way to go is installing garage floor epoxy covering. Epoxy is the same finishing material that is found on top of the concrete floor of showrooms and car dealerships. It does not only look good, as it is also the most durable concrete resurfacing available. It is so durable that it is used in industrial plants where the floors are exposed to heavy traffic as well as possible chemical spills. These are only some of the best available options for garage floor coverings.
The bottom line is that the concrete garage floor needs to be protected from the foot traffic, the oil and the grease stains, and the best way to protect it is by choosing a kind of covering. So choose the most suitable covering option for you and act now before it is too late.

Really Pleased! Our garage needed some major help – not only was it a mess but the floor was just ugly with all the stains and such. I will agree with the reviewer below – do not go with the cheap imitators! Floorguard not only has a great product, but their installers and service is well worth any extra cost, which is minimal anyway. Our neighbors have commented on how good our garage looks and we’ve recommended them to Floorguard without hesitation.
The garage looks so good! A+ company on every level. Wish I had another garage to resurface!
My neighbor had a floor done by another company that was new to the industry, boy were they sorry. I went with the experts, Floorguard did an incredible job!!

Covering our old, gray garage floor was a great aesthetic and functional improvement. This project requires 2 days: first day preparing the surface (major job requiring right equipment), putting down first coating and sprinkling the flakes. This requires about 4 hours. After this dries, they come back next day and apply the topcoat. They notified us when they would start the work and arrived as promised. They worked diligently, completed the work efficiently, left the work areas and our driveway clean. The owner Steve is a great guy to deal with.

It was a pleasure dealing with the company’s owner Steve Chaloult. When we called him to give us an estimate, he arranged to come within a few days. We have a very large two car garage. His estimate was a bit more than the first company we called but he seemed very well prepared in showing us samples and very knowledgeable about his product and we just liked him. For personal reasons , we had to delay installation for about a month and he could not be more accommodating. we finally we able to have it done this past week and it was worth the wait. The garage floor is just beautiful and I never would have thought I would say that about a garage floor! We also had the lower walls around the floor done and very glad we did. At one time we were thinking we could do this ourselves using a kit. WHAT were we thinking? This is a job for a professional and we are so glad we used Steve.

The owner Steve Chaloult was easy to work with and he’s very good at what he does. I highly recommend Floorguard as your contractor if you’re wanting to have a garage floor finished with a durable epoxy like colored finish. Floorguard came when they said they would and cleaned up after they were finished. Floorguard also installs garage storage cabinets.
